This course provides practical knowledge and skills in WHS for elected HSRs in the workplave. 

While the course is designed for elected HSRs, the knowledge covered is also highly valuable for people who work closely with WHS, including managers, supervisors, business owners, safety personnel and workers wanting to build their understanding of workplace health and safety.

The course can help participants better understand WHS responsibilities, consultation, risk management and how health and safety issues can be identified and addressed in the workplace. The course covers:

• HSR roles, rights and responsibilities
• WHS legislation 
• Consultation
• Identifying hazards and assessing risks
• Risk management and control measures
• Workplace inspections and investigations
• Communicating and raising WHS concerns
• HSR powers and functions & Provisional Improvement Notices (PINs),

Please note: Only elected HSRs can exercise the statutory powers of an HSR. Completing the course does not give a non-HSR those powers.
